If you are planning a renovation, you will inevitably face the problem of choosing materials for the renovation and finding rational solutions in interior design. If you are interested in learning how to make a good renovation and where you can save money, this article is for you!

The key to a good interior is a competent space planning with furniture placement. Make a list of the equipment and furniture necessary for your lifestyle. Think over the functional zoning of the premises and place everything you need on the plan. Only after that, start planning sockets, lamps and choosing finishing materials. If you did not get the best layout of the apartment from the developer, do not skimp on dismantling and installing walls, because later you will regret that the space is not used functionally. At this stage, we advise you to contact interior designers who have experience in developing planning solutions and knowledge of ergonomics. If you have a limited budget, order "Express Design". This is a basic design project, according to which you can calculate the exact cost of repairs and issue a work assignment for builders. You will only have to choose colors, materials and furniture for the future interior yourself.

How to make repairs beautifully, practically and cheaply

Next, you will have a number of questions. Let us leave a short comment on each of them.

What should partitions be made of?

If the speed of repairs is important to you, we recommend choosing drywall walls. Such walls will be initially smooth and you will save on leveling. However, remember that it is necessary to lay a soundproofing layer inside the partitions and provide for the placement of embedded parts and bars for wall cabinets, TVs, mirrors and other heavy elements.

What plumbing to choose?

If you do not have a water purification system, avoid black plumbing and black faucets like the plague! Such plumbing is immediately covered with a white coating from water. It is better to use classic white plumbing, chrome or white faucets. We recommend making a shower stall with a tray from porcelain stoneware, since ready-made shower stalls look worse, take up a lot of space and are not convenient to use. Instead of glass doors in the shower, you can choose a stylish curtain.

What to make a ceiling from?

The best option in terms of price/installation time/visual characteristics is matte stretch ceilings. Visually, they are practically no different from plasterboard. If you do not want to see a plastic border around the perimeter of the stretch ceiling, choose a more expensive version of the stretch ceiling - with a shadow seam. It will still be much cheaper than plasterboard. Do not forget about the curtain guides. The ideal option is a built-in curtain rod.

What finishing material to choose for the walls?

If you are on a limited budget, choose vinyl seamless wallpaper, for example, from Rasch. It is better to pay attention to the most monochromatic, without streaks. If you want to make the interior more expressive, you can make one of the walls an accent wall. This can be wallpaper with a pattern or just a more saturated accent color. Avoid options with glitter or imitation stone and wood. Such wallpaper cheapens the appearance and quickly goes out of fashion. For the walls in the bathroom, use porcelain stoneware, 60x60 or 60x120 format. Forget about glazed tiles with patterns. It looks old-fashioned. Now there are many affordable options with imitation stone or wood, and stylish options with geometric patterns are also presented.

What finishing material to choose for the floor?

We suggest using quartz vinyl PVC floors. This is a durable material that is not afraid of water and impacts, while being warmer than ceramic tiles and has many design options. Most vinyl floors look the same as laminate, but will last much longer. This material is presented in 2 types: locking (assembled in the same way as laminate) and adhesive (glued to the prepared cement floor). The adhesive version is suitable for use in toilets and bathrooms, with the exception of shower stalls. Thus, you can make a uniform floor in all rooms, the kitchen, hallway and bathroom, without thresholds.

What furniture materials to choose for the kitchen work area?

The most economical option is cabinet furniture made of laminated chipboard. If you do not plan to live until death with the same furniture, but understand that in 10 years it is desirable to update the interior, then feel free to order furniture made of chipboard. Yes, it has a significant disadvantage - vulnerability to water. But if you are a careful person and can ensure that such furniture does not come into contact with water for a long time, then everything will be fine. Order chipboard edging with PUR glue. For the countertop, choose the EGGER company. This is a fairly resistant to temperature and water countertop made of laminated chipboard. However, do not forget to seal the joints with the sink and hob with a high-quality sealant. In the design of the drawers and for the back wall, you can use a cheap material - fiberboard. For the apron of the kitchen work area, use porcelain stoneware, format 60x60 or 60x120. To make it easy to keep clean, choose porcelain stoneware with a smooth matte surface. Install the kitchen countertop under the apron with tiles. It is a misconception that dirt is immediately visible on white furniture. In practice, a light kitchen is more practical: dust, stains and fingerprints are less noticeable on it.

We can assure you that by choosing the materials described above, you can make a beautiful, functional and inexpensive to implement interior. The main thing is not to rush and allow enough time to prepare the design project. The cost of the service for developing a basic interior design project “EXPRESS” is only 2% - 5% of the cost of implementing the future interior. Draw the right conclusions and seek help from specialists!
